Overview

The NSW2020-24T2GC-LPOE-IN is an unmanaged 19-inch rack-mount Fast Ethernet PoE switch, the lower-power-budget counterpart in this 24-port dual-Combo-uplink series, with 24 × 100Mbps RJ45 PoE ports (priority ports 1-8) plus two independent 1000Mbps Combo RJ45/SFP uplinks (G1/SFP1, G2/SFP2), each able to switch on its own between copper and fiber for dual-link redundancy or aggregation. It delivers a 250 W total PoE budget (30 W max per port, IEEE 802.3af/at, Mode A and Mode B pinout) over an 8.8 Gbps switching fabric with 6.55 Mpps forwarding, a 4M bit packet buffer and a 16K MAC address table, cooled by a single internal fan and powered from a built-in AC 100–240V supply (265 W max). The all-metal 440×195×44 mm 1U chassis (2.14 kg) — a shallower, lighter build than the higher-budget model in this series — runs from 0°C to 45°C and switches between Default (Normal), VLAN (Secure, downlink-to-uplink only, with PD keepalive to reboot unresponsive PoE cameras) and EXTEND (250 m surveillance reach) via a front-panel slide switch — no management software required, NDAA compliant.

Is This the Right Fit?

Six real deployment scenarios matched to this model's actual datasheet specifications.

Right-Sized PoE Budget for Standard Fixed Cameras, Not Overpaid-For Headroom250 W spread across 24 ports averages roughly 10 W per port — plenty for the 4-9 W draw of typical fixed bullet and dome cameras (24 × 7 W ≈ 168 W stays well inside budget), so projects that don't need 25-30 W PTZ units on every port aren't paying for PoE capacity they'll never use.
A Shallower 195 mm Chassis Fits Cabinets a Full-Depth Switch Can'tAt 440 × 195 × 44 mm and 2.14 kg, this 1U unit is noticeably shallower than the higher-budget model in this series — useful for shallow wall-mount cabinets, small IDF closets or branch-office racks where a deeper chassis simply won't close the door, while still keeping the full 24-port, 19-inch-wide layout.
Two Independent Combo Uplinks Bring Fiber Flexibility to an Entry-Tier SwitchG1/SFP1 and G2/SFP2 each switch independently between RJ45 copper and SFP fiber, so a cost-conscious deployment can still run one link to the core over fiber and keep a copper path as backup — without needing to step up to a higher-PoE-budget model just to get dual Combo uplinks.
Priority Ports 1-8 Carry More Weight on a Tighter 250 W BudgetWith less headroom than the higher-budget sibling, deciding what goes on ports 1-8 matters more here — put entrances, registers or server-room cameras on those eight ports so they're served first if the other 16 ports push aggregate draw toward the ceiling.
VLAN Secure Mode + PD Keepalive for Cost-Conscious Multi-Branch RolloutsRetail chains, small branch offices or kiosks that need identical, zero-configuration switches at every site can slide this to VLAN (Secure): the 24 downlinks talk only to the uplinks, and PD keepalive auto-reboots any camera that stops responding — all without paying for a managed-switch tier.
EXTEND Mode Still Reaches a Distant Gate Camera on the Budget TierThe same front-panel switch flips to EXTEND for up to 250 m of reach on a single port, so even this lower-power model can anchor a dense indoor camera bank on ports 1-24 while a lone gate or fence-line camera runs on extended reach — no separate long-reach switch required.
Not a good fit if:
  • All 24 downlink ports run Fast Ethernet only (10/100Mbps, no Gigabit) — the two Combo uplinks (G1/SFP1, G2/SFP2) are the only 1000Mbps ports on this switch, so 4K or multi-stream cameras that need per-port Gigabit throughput need a Gigabit PoE switch instead.
  • Unmanaged by design — there's no Web/CLI/SNMP interface or per-port VLAN tagging; the front-panel switch only offers Default/VLAN/EXTEND positions. If a project needs remote monitoring, SNMP alerts or individual port control, look at a managed switch instead.
  • The 250 W budget can't power all 24 ports at 30 W simultaneously (24 × 30 W = 720 W ≫ 250 W) — with even less headroom than the higher-budget model in this series, plan camera load carefully around the 8 priority ports and favor cameras well under 15 W; this model is 802.3af/at only (Mode A/B), so 802.3bt high-power PTZ domes (60–90 W) need a bt-capable switch or injector, and projects expecting most ports near the 30 W ceiling should choose the higher-budget sibling instead.
