Where a PTZ Beats Three Fixed Cameras

Open areas with occasional events — yards, perimeters, parking, gates — are PTZ territory: patrol wide, zoom in when something moves, track it automatically.

The range starts at mini PTZs with 4x–5x zoom and warm-light night color for shops and compounds, runs through 20x–25x mid-range domes for factories and schools, and tops out at 33x–42x long-range units with laser IR reaching hundreds of metres — plus dual- and triple-channel models that watch a panorama and zoom a detail at the same time.

Two honest notes: big PTZs draw real power — plan PoE++ or dedicated supplies, not a standard af port — and a PTZ complements fixed cameras rather than replacing them at entrances where you need a face every time.

What is the minimum order quantity?

None for standard units — start with 2–3 samples, test on your own site, then scale by air or LCL sea freight. MOQ only applies to OEM orders with your own logo and packaging.

How far can a PTZ actually identify a person?

Depends on zoom: mid-range 25x units confirm a person at roughly 200m; long-range 33x–42x models push identification to 300m+ with detection kilometres out. Every product page prints the DORI table — quote those numbers, not marketing reach.

Does auto tracking work without an operator?

Yes on supported models: the camera detects a person or vehicle, follows it across its patrol area, then returns to the preset. Which targets each model tracks (person / vehicle / both) is stated per product page — check before quoting unmanned sites.
