Overview
The ISW5000-8GT4GP-POE-IN is a harsh-environment industrial managed Gigabit PoE switch with 8 × 10/100/1000M RJ45 PoE ports (IEEE 802.3af/at, up to 30 W per port, 120 W total budget) and 4 × 1000M SFP fiber slots. It delivers 24 Gbps switching capacity and 17.86 Mpps forwarding, with one-click ERPS ring, STP/RSTP/MSTP protection and full management over Web, Console, Telnet, SSH and SNMP v1/v2c/v3. A -30 °C to 65 °C operating range with ±6/8 kV ESD and ±2/4 kV surge protection suits demanding field cabinets.
Is This the Right Fit?
Six real deployment scenarios matched to this model's actual datasheet specifications.
Warehouse CCTV Power & BackboneThe 120 W PoE budget runs eight typical fixed cameras (10–13 W each) with headroom, and any single port can feed a 30 W device — one switch powers and aggregates a warehouse bay.
Factory Ring NetworkOne-click ERPS ring turns a chain of switches into a self-healing loop — if a cable is cut on the line, traffic reroutes automatically; commissioning takes one button, not a CLI session.
Fiber Uplink Beyond 100 mFour 1000M SFP slots take the backbone past copper's 100 m limit — multimode or single-mode optics per distance, with DDM optical diagnostics built in.
Outdoor Cabinets, Extreme Temperatures-30 °C to 65 °C operating range with ±6/8 kV ESD and ±2/4 kV surge protection — built for roadside and rooftop cabinets that bake in summer and freeze in winter.
Wire-Speed Video Aggregation24 Gbps switching and 17.86 Mpps forwarding keep all 12 ports at wire speed simultaneously — no dropped frames when every camera streams at once; LACP bundles uplinks for more headroom.
Managed Diagnostics for Remote SitesVirtual cable test, DDM optical readings, Syslog and SNMP traps let you diagnose a tunnel or rooftop site from the office — send a technician only when hardware truly failed.
Not a good fit if:
- Maximum 30 W per port (802.3af/at) — heated PTZ domes or other 802.3bt (60–90 W) devices need a bt-capable switch or midspan injector.
- Layer-2 managed with static routes only — if you need inter-VLAN dynamic routing (OSPF/RIP), choose a Layer-3 switch instead.
- Power input is DC 48–57 V or the AC 100–240 V adapter — no 12/24 V low-voltage input, so direct solar-battery or vehicle supplies need a DC-DC converter.
Key Features
- 8 × 10/100/1000M RJ45 PoE ports + 4 × 1000M SFP slots
- PoE per IEEE 802.3af/at — up to 30 W per port, 120 W total budget, 100 m data & power reach
- One-click ERPS ring and one-click storm suppression for fast field commissioning
- STP/RSTP/MSTP (64 instances) Layer-2 link protection
- Static & LACP link aggregation with load balancing and link backup
- Full management: Web, Console, Telnet, SSH, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, Syslog, NTP
- Security suite: dynamic ARP inspection, DHCP snooping, storm control, port isolation & security

Talk to an engineer →Managed Industrial PoE Switch FAQ — ISW5000-8GT4GP-POE-IN
How much PoE power does the ISW5000-8GT4GP-POE-IN provide?
All 8 gigabit RJ45 ports source IEEE 802.3af/at PoE with a 120 W total budget — 15 W average per port fully loaded, up to 30 W on a single port for PTZ cameras. Pinout is Mode A (1/2 negative, 3/6 positive) and each port carries data plus power up to 100 m.
Can I build a redundant fiber ring with it?
Yes. It offers one-click ERPS ring protection plus STP/RSTP/MSTP with up to 64 instances and loopback detection. With 4 × 1000M SFP slots you can link cabinets into a fiber ring so a single fiber cut does not drop the cameras behind each node — a common layout for perimeter and roadside CCTV backbones.
How do I manage and troubleshoot it remotely?
Access runs over Web, Console, Telnet and SSH, with SNMP v1/v2c/v3 plus traps for the NMS, and SNTP/NTP, FTP/TFTP and Syslog for time and files. Maintenance tools include a hardware watchdog, CPU protection, ping/traceroute, virtual cable test and DDM optical diagnostics on the SFP links.
Which network features matter for a CCTV or factory LAN?
4K 802.1Q VLANs with Access/Trunk/Hybrid, QinQ and voice VLAN; static and LACP link aggregation; IGMP Snooping v1/v2/v3 with fast leave for multicast video; DHCP server/relay/snooping with Option 82; storm control, port isolation, dynamic ARP inspection and ICMP attack prevention for edge security.
Is it tough enough for harsh sites, and how fast is the fabric?
It operates -30 to 65 °C with ±6 kV contact / ±8 kV air ESD and ±2/±4 kV surge protection, powered from DC 48–57 V via an AC 100–240 V adapter. The fabric switches 24 Gbps at 17.86 Mpps with an 8K MAC table and 9 KB jumbo frames, in a 145 × 109 × 62.3 mm housing.
