It delivers a 250 W total PoE budget (30 W max per port, IEEE 802.3af/at, both Mode A (1,2/3,6) and Mode B (4,5/7,8) pinout support) over a 7.2 Gbps switching fabric with 5.36 Mpps forwarding, a 4M bit packet buffer and a 16K MAC address table, cooled by a single internal fan and powered from a built-in AC 100–240V supply (265 W max). How many cameras can the NSW2020-16T2GC-POE-IN power?
All 16 × 100 Mbps ports source IEEE 802.3af/at PoE from a 250 W budget — roughly 15 W per camera fully loaded, well above the 4–12 W a typical fixed IP camera draws. A single port can supply up to 30 W for PTZ or heated housings, so 16 cameras including a few PTZ is workable.
Why two combo SFP uplinks instead of one?
The two 1000 Mbps Combo ports (G1/SFP1, G2/SFP2) each accept RJ45 copper or an SFP fiber module, giving independent uplink paths. Installers typically run fiber to a remote control room on one and copper to the on-site NVR on the other — no media converters needed on either path.
Can it reboot a frozen camera by itself?
Yes. In VLAN (Secure) mode the PD keepalive function watches each PoE port and automatically power-cycles a camera that stops sending data for a set period — a built-in PoE watchdog. The front slide switch also offers Default mode and EXTEND mode, which reaches cameras up to 250 m away.
