Rule of thumb: count your cameras, then leave room to grow — a shop with 3 cameras runs happily on the 104S3-P4; pick the 108S3-P8 if you may add cameras later. Both models power compliant PoE cameras directly from the built-in ports. Highlighted rows in the spec table below show every difference between the two.

The Uniarch S3-P Series is a 1-HDD PoE network video recorder offered in two sizes: NVR-104S3-P4 (4-ch) and NVR-108S3-P8 (8-ch). Both models have built-in PoE network interfaces (IEEE 802.3af/at) that power compliant IP cameras directly over the same cable, record cameras up to 6MP with Ultra 265 / H.265 / H.264 compression, and output simultaneously over HDMI and VGA at up to 1920×1080. Third-party cameras are supported via ONVIF (Profile S, G, T); one SATA bay takes a hard disk up to 6 TB, and the local interface is available in 21 languages including Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil) and French.

Small shops & homesThe 4-ch 104S3-P4 plus four PoE cameras is a complete starter kit — one cable per camera, one disk, one screen, done.
Growing businessesBuy channels you don't use yet: the 108S3-P8 doubles the PoE ports so you can add cameras later without buying a separate switch.
No extra PoE switch to buyBuilt-in 4 or 8-port PoE (IEEE 802.3af/at, up to 30 W per port) powers compliant cameras directly over the same network cable — plug and play.
Remote viewing on phoneP2P protocol built in — the owner checks the shop from a phone app without a fixed IP or network skills.
Local-language interface21 GUI languages including Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil) and French — your customer operates it in their own language.
Mixed-brand projectsONVIF Profile S/G/T means existing third-party IP cameras keep working — note that the built-in PoE ports only power 802.3af/at-compliant cameras; other cameras still need their own power.
Not the right pick if you need…
  • 4K/UHD monitor output — HDMI and VGA top out at 1920×1080 on this series
  • A second hard disk or RAID — this series has a single SATA bay
  • Gigabit uplink — the network and PoE ports are 10/100M (fine for up to 8 cameras at 64 Mbps total)
  • Alarm in/out wiring for sirens or sensors
  • Audio input — it has a 3.5mm audio output only (camera-side mics still record)

4/8 Channel PoE NVR FAQ — NVR-104S3-P4/108S3-P8

How many cameras can I run on the built-in PoE?
The NVR-104S3-P4 powers 4 cameras from 4 PoE ports with a 50W total budget; the NVR-108S3-P8 powers 8 cameras with 75W total. Each port supplies up to 30W (IEEE 802.3af/at), so standard fixed IP cameras run comfortably and one higher-draw camera per site is still fine.
What resolution can it record?
Recording resolution goes up to 6MP per channel (6MP/5MP/4MP/3MP/1080P and below). Decoding capability covers 2×6MP@30 or 4×5MP@25 for local display, and the HDMI and VGA outputs both reach 1920×1080 at 60 Hz. Incoming bandwidth is 64 Mbps across all channels.
How many hard drives and what maximum capacity?
One SATA bay taking a surveillance hard drive up to 6 TB. Ultra 265 compression cuts recording size dramatically versus H.264, so that 6 TB disk keeps footage for weeks longer — useful where retention requirements are long but the budget only covers one disk.
Will my existing third-party cameras work with it?
Yes — full ONVIF conformance (Profile S, G and T) means existing IP cameras on site keep working. You can upgrade the recorder today and replace cameras on your own schedule. The 21-language GUI includes Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese for local operators.
How is the recorder itself powered and how much space does it need?
The 104S3-P4 uses a DC 48V/1.35A supply and the 108S3-P8 a DC 52V/1.8A supply, which also feeds the PoE ports. The unit draws under 9W without HDD, measures a compact 190×195×42 mm, weighs under 1 kg and works from -10 to 55 °C.
Can I view it remotely?
Yes. P2P, DDNS, HTTP/HTTPS and RTSP are supported, up to 128 remote users can connect, and outgoing bandwidth is 48 Mbps for remote streams. Browser access works with Chrome 45+, Edge 79+, Firefox 52+ and IE10/11 via plugin.
