The Uniview NVR504-B Series is a 4-HDD network video recorder offered in two sizes: NVR504-16B (16-ch) and NVR504-32B (32-ch). Both record cameras up to 16MP with Ultra 265 / H.265 / H.264 compression, output independently over HDMI (up to 4K) and VGA, and support RAID 1/5 disk redundancy across four SATA bays each up to 24 TB. The rear panel includes 16 alarm inputs, 4 alarm outputs, an RS485 port, and the local interface is available in 38 languages including Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil) and French.

- Recorder-side AI on ordinary or third-party cameras — this series has no "Smart by NVR" processing; face/vehicle detection runs on Uniview smart IPC cameras upstream, the recorder only indexes and searches the results
- RS232 serial control — only RS485 is present on this series, RS232 is listed N/A
- A fifth hard disk or more — this series tops out at 4 SATA bays (up to 96 TB total with four 24 TB drives)
- Redundant/dual power input — it runs on a single DC 12 V/5 A power supply, no built-in PSU redundancy

Four independent SATA bays each take a disk up to 24 TB (up to 96 TB total) and support Disk Group plus RAID 1/5 — mirroring or parity protection so a single drive failure doesn't take your recordings with it.
Built-in search, powered by smart cameras
Face Detection, Face Comparison and Vehicle Detection (LPR) on Uniview smart cameras feed the recorder's VCA Search — Face Snapshot Search, Motor/Non-Motor Vehicle Search, Human Body Search, People Counting Report and Heat Map — to narrow hours of 16- or 32-channel footage to the exact clip.
