Design Notes & Honest Limits

Read this before you order:
  • E-bike detection warns and reports — it cannot physically block the elevator door. Pairing it with a property rule (fines, repeated-offender follow-up) is what actually changes behavior; some projects add door-hold linkage, which needs elevator-maker cooperation.
  • High-altitude throwing cameras need positions: upward-facing, set back from the building, with sky as background — not every site line works. We plan positions from your elevation drawings before quoting.
  • Resident face data is personal data: collection needs consent under most privacy laws, alternatives (card/PIN) must stay available, and data should live on the property's local platform — not in a public cloud — with role-based access. We configure it that way by default.
  • Night color needs light: "full-color at night" models still want minimum ambient lux. Budget basic landscape lighting along dark perimeter runs, or accept IR black-and-white there — do not expect miracles from marketing terms.
  • Phase it: gates + unit doors + elevators stop most incidents and fit most budgets; perimeter AI, throwing detection and thermal charging watch join in phase two. The platform accepts every phase without rework.

FAQ

How many cameras does a residential community need?
A 10-building compound (about 1,000 units) typically runs 150–300 cameras: each gate 3–4, each unit lobby 1–2, each elevator car 1, corridors per floor plan, basement parking one per 2–3 aisles plus every entrance ramp, perimeter one per 50–80 m, plus chargers, playgrounds and rooftops. The elevator and lobby count dominates — send the master plan and we produce the building-by-building table free.
Can the system actually stop an e-bike entering the elevator?
Honest answer: it detects, warns by voice, alerts the property office and records — it does not physically hold the door. Detection-plus-rules is what works in practice: repeat offenders get identified and followed up. Some projects link detection to a door-hold function, which requires the elevator manufacturer's cooperation — ask us and we will tell you if yours can.
How does high-altitude throwing detection work?
Upward-facing cameras watch the building facade continuously. When an object falls through the frame, the system captures the trajectory video and marks the origin area — floor and window range — so the property office reviews a 10-second clip instead of interviewing 200 households. Camera positions need sky background and setback distance (see Design Notes).
How are couriers and food delivery handled?
Three workable patterns, choose per community policy: visitor QR pre-registration (resident books the pass, courier scans in), intercom-to-resident remote open (resident sees video, opens the unit door from the phone), or restricted access with lobby drop-off. All entries are face-captured and searchable either way — the flow stays fast, the record stays complete.
Who can see the footage — what about resident privacy?
Cameras cover public areas only — never inside apartments. Footage lives on the property's local platform with role-based permissions: guards see live public views, managers approve exports, every playback and export is logged.
