How far does the IPC-T122-APF28K see at night?

Its 850 nm Smart IR illuminates up to 30 m and the IR-cut filter switches to black-and-white automatically in the dark. In color mode the sensor works down to 0.02 lux at F2.1, so evening scenes under shop or street lighting stay in color longer.

What area does the fixed 2.8 mm lens cover?

The 2.8 mm lens gives a wide 101.1° horizontal field of view. DORI distances: detect a person at 45 m, observe at 18 m, recognize at 9 m and identify at 4.5 m — a good match for shop entrances, corridors, small yards and reception areas.

Does it record sound?

Yes, there is a built-in microphone with G.711U/G.711A audio at 64 Kbps, and audio detection can trigger alerts on loud sounds. Note that two-way audio is not supported on this model — it records and detects sound but cannot talk back.

How is it powered and can it be installed outside?

It is PoE powered: one network cable from your PoE switch or NVR carries both power and video, which keeps wiring simple on long runs. The IP67-rated body is sealed against dust and rain, so eaves, walls and gate posts are all fine.

How much bandwidth does it use, and can it record to an SD card?

Main stream is 1080P at up to 25 fps with Ultra 265, H.265 or H.264, adjustable from 128 to 6144 Kbps; U-code compression cuts the rate further on static scenes. Dual streams let the NVR record full quality while remote viewing uses the lighter sub stream, and a MicroSD slot covers local recording.
