- No built-in IR or warm-light illuminator — in scenes with zero ambient light after dark, image color and detail depend entirely on residual light; consider an IR-equipped model if the site has no night lighting at all.
- Standard PoE (802.3af) alone is not enough — this camera needs PoE+ (802.3at, max. 16 W) or a dedicated AC/DC 24 V supply; check your switch's PoE budget before ordering.
- No built-in mic, speaker or Wi-Fi — audio needs an external line-in/out device and network connection is wired (RJ45) only.
- 4.07 kg on a Ø218 mm × 297 mm housing — needs one of the listed Uniview pole/wall/ceiling brackets and a rigid mounting point, not a light camera arm.

How does the IPC6634S-X33-VF perform at night?
The LightHunter 1/2.8-inch sensor works down to 0.003 lux in color and 0.001 lux in black-and-white (F1.5, AGC on). No built-in IR illuminator is listed for this model, so on totally dark perimeters plan ambient lighting or external illuminators; under street lights it stays in color.
From how far can it detect and identify a person?
By the DORI figures at full 33x telephoto (148.5 mm): detect 3172.5 m, observe 1269 m, recognize 634.5 m and identify 317.3 m. At the 4.5 mm wide end detection is 105.8 m, so one camera handles both overview and long-distance verification.
Will it work with my existing NVR or VMS?
Yes — it integrates via ONVIF Profile S, G, T and M plus API and SDK, so ONVIF-compliant NVRs and VMS platforms can pull its streams. Uniview EZStation, UNV-Link and UNV-Link Pro clients are supported, and the protocol list includes RTSP, RTMP, FTP, NTP and DHCP.
Can it follow a moving intruder by itself?
Yes. Auto tracking supports target filtering for humans, vehicles and non-motor vehicles. Smart intrusion prevention covers cross-line, intrusion and enter/leave-area detection with false alarm filtering, and the camera also counts people flow and monitors crowd density for busy public areas.
What storage options does it offer if the network drops?
A MicroSD slot takes cards up to 512 GB, and ANR support means video recorded to the card during a network outage can be filled back to the recorder once the link returns. NAS (NFS) network storage is also available.
Is the housing rated for outdoor use, and is access secured?
Per the product data it carries IP67 and IK10 ratings for dust, water and impact. On the network side it supports TLS 1.3, HTTPS encryption, strong passwords, RTSP/user authentication and IP address filtering — practical for city projects where cameras sit on public poles.
