The IPC6854ER-X40G-VF is a 4MP 40× optical-zoom PTZ dome camera built on Uniview's LightHunter low-light technology, pairing a 1/1.8" CMOS sensor (2688×1520 @30fps) with a 5.7-228 mm motorized lens that sweeps from a 59.5° wide overview down to a 2.2° telephoto pinpoint. Smart IR reaches 250 m, EIS gyroscopic stabilization keeps the long zoom steady, and a built-in SFP optical port runs alongside the RJ45 port so the unit can be linked over fiber where copper cable runs fall short. Housed to IP66 with a -40°C to 70°C rating, a heater and 6 kV surge protection, it also carries smart intrusion prevention (cross line / area entry-leave with human, non-motor and motor vehicle classification) and people-flow / crowd-density counting.
Is this the right camera for you?
Plain-language guide for buyers and installers — based only on what this camera actually does.
- No PoE on this unit — it needs a dedicated AC 24 V or DC 24 V supply (max. 61 W). Plan power cabling before ordering.
- No built-in microphone or speaker — the audio I/O is line-level (1 in / 1 out) only, so two-way audio needs your own external mic and speaker equipment.
- No Wi-Fi (N/A in the datasheet) — connect via wired RJ45 or the SFP fiber port only.
- Protection is rated IP66 only in this datasheet — no IK-series impact/vandal rating is listed, so it is not documented as vandal-resistant.
Worried about counterfeits? Order under your own company name.
For corporate buyers: we support submitting the purchase order to Uniview under your company's real name — your company appears on the official order, so the origin of the goods can be verified directly with the manufacturer. Just provide your company name and pay by corporate bank transfer. Models carrying the anti-counterfeit label can also be self-verified on Uniview's official Anti-Counterfeiting Query page — enter the unit's SN plus the scratch-off code.
Using your own freight forwarder? No problem.
For small and mid-size orders, we deliver directly to your designated forwarder's warehouse in China (EXW / FOB Guangzhou). From hand-over onward, international shipping and destination-side arrangements are handled by your forwarder — the way you already work.
Key Features
Complete list from the official datasheet.
One Lens, Two Extremes: Wide Overview to 40× Telephoto
The 5.7-228 mm motorized lens covers both ends of the job from a single mount.
59.5° horizontal field of view for full-scene overview
Detect-level DORI at this end is 107.2 m — a wide, steady overview of the whole area from one pole.
2.2° telephoto pinpoint for long-range identification
Detect-level DORI at full telephoto reaches 3330.6 m (10927.2 ft.) — the reach that makes 40× worth choosing.
How far can it see? (DORI)
DORI is the industry standard for what a camera can do at distance. Values shown are at full 40× telephoto (5.7-228 mm lens, tele end); the wide end (5.7 mm) gives shorter distances — see the lens card above.
How wide a view at each distance
Scene width covered at typical mounting distances — the number you need to work out how many cameras a wall, yard or aisle takes.
| Distance | 59.5° wide | 2.2° tele |
|---|---|---|
| 5 m16 ft | 5.7 m18.8 ft | 0.2 m0.6 ft |
| 10 m33 ft | 11.4 m37.5 ft | 0.4 m1.3 ft |
| 15 m49 ft | 17.1 m56.3 ft | 0.6 m1.9 ft |
| 20 m66 ft | 22.9 m75.0 ft | 0.8 m2.5 ft |
| 30 m98 ft | 34.3 m113 ft | 1.2 m3.8 ft |
Calculated from the horizontal field of view in the specifications below: width = 2 × distance × tan(FOV ÷ 2). Lens distortion and mounting angle are not included.
