LightHunter low-light processing keeps color images usable down to 0.0002 Lux, Smart IR extends night viewing up to 1000 m, and onboard analytics cover smart intrusion prevention (cross line, intrusion, enter/leave area) with human/vehicle classification and false-alarm filtering, plus people counting and crowd-density monitoring. How far can the IPC7628EL-L-X41-VH1 actually see?

DORI figures at full 41x zoom: detect a target at up to 4,829 m, observe at 1,931 m, recognize at 965 m and identify at 482 m. Smart IR reaches 1,000 m, so the camera keeps working at night on borders, ports and large perimeters.

What zoom and lens does it have?

A 6–246 mm motorized lens with 41x optical zoom plus 16x digital, aperture F1.2 at wide end. Field of view runs from 57.96° wide down to 2.15° at full telephoto, so one positioning system covers a wide scene and still pulls in detail kilometres away.

Is it usable at night without street lighting?

Yes. The 1/1.8-inch sensor works in colour down to 0.0002 lux, and Smart IR illuminates up to 1,000 m in total darkness. 120 dB WDR handles headlights and gate lighting, and defog plus 2D/3D noise reduction keep the long-range image clean.

Can it record without an NVR?

It takes a MicroSD card up to 512 GB for edge recording and supports NAS (NFS) network storage. ANR automatically backfills recording gaps after a network outage — useful on long wireless links to remote perimeter and border sites.

What analytics does it run on the edge?

Cross line, intrusion, enter and leave area detection with false alarm filtering, multi-target detection, plus people flow counting and crowd density monitoring. Basic events include motion, ultra motion, tampering, audio detection and object removed or left behind — all inside the camera.

Will it survive heat, dust and storms?

The housing is rated IP66 against dust and driving rain and operates from -40 to 70 °C, so desert, coastal and highland sites are covered. Ultra 265/H.265 compression at 128 Kbps–16 Mbps keeps bandwidth low on radio links.
