The Uniview NVR516 Series is a 16-bay rack-mount network video recorder offered in two channel counts: NVR516-64 (64-ch) and NVR516-128 (128-ch). Both record cameras up to 12MP with Ultra 265 / H.265 / H.264 compression, output independently over two HDMI ports plus VGA, and support hot-swap RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 across 16 SATA bays holding up to 16 TB each. The recorder also runs extensive on-camera VCA analytics — face detection and comparison, vehicle detection, intrusion and line-crossing detection, temperature/fire detection and people counting — with a 38-language local interface.

- Compact or desktop placement — this is a 3U rack chassis (482 × 477 × 131 mm, ≤10 kg without HDDs) that needs a server rack, not a desk or shelf
- A small or single-site deployment — 16-bay, 64/128-channel scale is built for large multi-building or city-level projects, not a shop with a handful of cameras
- Built-in decoding cards out of the box — Decoding Card 1/2 slots exist on the rear panel but the cards themselves are optional add-ins, not included

Face, vehicle and intrusion detection, built in
Face Detection, Face Comparison, Vehicle Detection, intrusion/line-crossing detection (SIP), Ultra Motion Detection, temperature and fire detection, and people counting run on up to 32 images/s across all channels, feeding VCA Search — Face Snapshot, Face Comparison, Motor/Non-Motor Vehicle, Human Body and General Search — so operators jump straight to the clip instead of scrubbing 64 or 128 channels of footage.
