The Uniview NVR524-E Series is a 24-bay hot-swap network video recorder offered in two channel counts: NVR524-128E (128-ch) and NVR524-256E (256-ch). Both record cameras up to 32MP with Ultra 265 / H.265 / H.264 compression, output independently over dual HDMI (HDMI1 up to 8K) and dual VGA, and support RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 with N+1 hot spare across twenty-four hot-swappable SATA bays each up to 24 TB. The 4U chassis carries 640 Mbps incoming/outgoing bandwidth, 16 alarm inputs, 10 alarm outputs, and a local interface available in 38 languages including Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil) and French.
Is this the right recorder for you?
Plain-language guide for buyers and installers — based only on what this recorder actually does.
- PoE ports — cameras need a separate PoE switch (this recorder has no built-in PoE ports)
- Recorder-side AI on ordinary or third-party cameras — this series has no "Smart by NVR" processing; face/vehicle detection runs on Uniview smart IPC cameras upstream, the recorder only indexes and searches the results
- Desktop or shelf placement — this is a 4U rack chassis (485 × 539 × 175 mm, ≤10 kg without HDDs) meant for a server rack or cabinet, not a desk
- Redundant/dual power input — the datasheet lists a single AC 100–240 V supply, with no second PSU described
- A small site with a handful of cameras — 128/256 channels across 24 bays is sized for large enterprise or city-level deployments, not a single small shop
Worried about counterfeits? Order under your own company name.
For corporate buyers: we support submitting the purchase order to Uniview under your company's real name — your company appears on the official order, so the origin of the goods can be verified directly with the manufacturer. Just provide your company name and pay by corporate bank transfer. Models carrying the anti-counterfeit label can also be self-verified on Uniview's official Anti-Counterfeiting Query page — enter the unit's SN plus the scratch-off code.
Using your own freight forwarder? No problem.
For small and mid-size orders, we deliver directly to your designated forwarder's warehouse in China (EXW / FOB Guangzhou). From hand-over onward, international shipping and destination-side arrangements are handled by your forwarder — the way you already work.
Key Features
Complete list from the official datasheet.
24 bays, self-healing RAID. Smart search built in.
Two real capabilities that define this series: N+1 hot-spare RAID across 24 hot-swap bays, and VCA search working with smart cameras.
Twenty-four bays, and the array heals itself
Twenty-four hot-swap SATA bays, each up to 24 TB (up to 576 TB total), support Disk Group, Redundant Storage and RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60 — with N+1 Hot Spare, a standby disk in the array can take over automatically before you even swap the failed drive.
Built-in search across hundreds of channels
Face Detection, Face Comparison and Vehicle Detection (LPR) on Uniview smart cameras feed this recorder's VCA Search — Face Snapshot Search, Face Comparison Search, Motor/Non-Motor Vehicle Search, Human Body Search, People Counting Report and Heat Map — to narrow footage across up to 256 channels to the exact clip.
