The Uniview NVR816 Series is a 16-bay 19-inch rack-mount network video recorder offered in two sizes: NVR816-64 (64-ch) and NVR816-128 (128-ch). Both record cameras up to 12MP with Ultra 265 / H.265 / H.264 compression, support 16 hot-swappable SATA drives (up to 24 TB each) configurable as RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60 with an N+1 hot spare, and accept an optional second power supply for redundancy. The recorder outputs over 2 independent HDMI ports (up to 4K) plus 1 VGA port, includes Smart functions such as face, vehicle (LPR) and temperature detection on supported cameras, and provides a 38-language local interface.

- A small handful of cameras — this is a 16-bay rack chassis built for large sites; a compact desktop NVR is a better fit for a few cameras
