The Uniarch IPC-T242-ADF28(40)K-WP is a 2MP fixed turret network camera from the Halo Series ColorHunter Wise-ISP line. Its F1.0 large-aperture lens and warm-light illuminator (up to 30 m) keep video in full color at night instead of switching to black-and-white IR, and Wise-ISP processing optimizes color, detail and smear in very low light. It supports MicroSD edge storage up to 512 GB, 120 dB true WDR, an NDAA-compliant build, and dual power (PoE or DC 12V). It is offered with two fixed lenses: 2.8 mm (AF28, wider view) or 4.0 mm (AF40, longer reach).

Does the IPC-T242-ADF28(40)K-WP really stay in color all night?

Yes — it is a ColorHunter design with no IR illuminator. The F1.0 aperture and Wise-ISP processing work down to 0.0003 lux in color, and a warm white light reaching 30 m fills in truly dark scenes, so faces, clothing and vehicle colors stay usable at night.

Should I order the 2.8 mm or the 4.0 mm lens version?

The 2.8 mm (ADF28) sees 99° horizontally and detects a person at 45 m — pick it for wide areas close to the camera. The 4.0 mm (ADF40) narrows to 85.4° but detects at 64.3 m and recognizes at 12.9 m versus 9 m, better for driveways and fence lines.

How does it handle strong backlight, like a gate facing the sun?

It has true 120 dB WDR, which balances a bright background against a darker subject so faces at a sunlit gate are not silhouettes. HLC suppresses headlight glare at night, BLC lifts backlit subjects, and digital defog helps in haze or dust.

Can it record locally to an SD card?

Yes, edge storage takes a MicroSD card up to 512 GB. Recording at the camera protects footage from network cuts and gives small sites a recorder-free option; with Ultra 265 compression a large card holds days of 1080P video depending on bit rate settings.

Is it suitable for outdoor and NDAA-restricted projects?

Yes on both counts: the housing is IP67 rated against dust and rain, and the model is NDAA compliant, so it can be offered in tenders that exclude non-compliant equipment. The bracket adjusts 0–360° pan, 0–75° tilt and 0–360° rotation for flexible aiming.

What bandwidth and audio should I plan for?

Main stream is 1080P at up to 30 fps in Ultra 265, H.265, H.264 or MJPEG, with bit rate adjustable from 128 to 6144 Kbps and U-code for extra savings. Audio is G.711U/G.711A at 64 Kbps with an 8 kHz sampling rate, and audio detection can trigger alarms.
