Smart IR reaches up to 30 m, and the camera ships with two fixed lens options: 2.8 mm (ADF28K, 101.5° wide view) or 4.0 mm (ADF40K, 84.1° longer-reach view). What image quality does the IPC324LB-ADF28(40)K-H deliver?

The main stream records 4 MP (2560×1440) at up to 25 fps — roughly double the pixel count of 1080p, so faces and clothing details hold up better when you zoom into recordings. 120 dB WDR keeps backlit doorways readable, and bit rate is adjustable from 128 to 6144 Kbps.

Which lens should I pick for my site, 2.8 mm or 4.0 mm?

The 2.8 mm ADF28K sees 101.5° horizontally and detects people to 63 m — use it for rooms, shops and courtyards. The 4.0 mm ADF40K narrows to 84.1° but detects to 90 m and identifies at 9 m, which suits corridors, driveways and fence runs.

How does night vision work on this dome?

Invisible 850 nm Smart IR reaches up to 30 m with automatic intensity control, and the IR-cut filter switches between color day mode and black-and-white night mode on its own. Minimum color illumination is 0.01 Lux (F2.0, AGC on) and 0 Lux with IR active.

Does it record sound, and can I talk back?

The built-in microphone records audio with the video using G.711U/G.711A at 64 Kbps and supports audio detection alarms. There is no speaker and no two-way audio on this model, so it captures what happens but cannot broadcast your voice to the scene.

Is it safe to install where people can reach it?

Yes — that is what the IK10 vandal-resistant housing is for: it withstands deliberate knocks at low mounting heights, and IP67 sealing handles rain and dust outdoors. The 3-axis bracket (pan 8–360°, tilt 0–68°, rotate 10–360°) plus human-body-based cross-line detection and tampering alarm complete the package.
