The Uniview IPC3612LB-AF28K-WL is a 2MP fixed eyeball ColorHunter network camera with a single fixed 2.8 mm lens. Instead of infrared, it uses a warm white light up to 30 m to deliver full-color video around the clock — this model has no infrared illuminator and no black-and-white night vision mode. It powers over a single PoE cable, stores footage locally on a MicroSD card up to 512 GB, and carries an IP67 rating for outdoor use from −30 °C to 60 °C.

Is this the right camera for you?

Plain-language guide for buyers and installers — based only on what this camera actually does.

Shops & storefrontsSee customers and staff in full color day and night — warm light keeps faces and clothing colors visible at the counter even after dark. Built-in mic records what is said.

Home gates & entrancesThe warm light turns on automatically at night — visitors and intruders are seen in color, not grainy black-and-white IR footage, and everyone can tell the camera is active.

Warehouse & site perimetersIP67 body and −30 to 60 °C rating survive rain, dust and heat; MicroSD edge storage up to 512 GB records locally without a separate NVR.

Residential compounds24-hour full-color video makes it easier to describe a person's clothing or a vehicle's color to security — something black-and-white IR footage cannot do.

Small offices & receptionUltra 265 compression keeps recordings small — more days of full-color footage on the same storage.

Kiosks & small retail pointsOne PoE cable does power + video — quick to install at a small point without extra wiring for lighting.

Not the right pick if you need…

Covert/invisible night vision — this camera has no infrared illuminator; its warm light is visible, so it cannot be used for discreet monitoring
Two-way talk — it has a mic but no speaker
Wi-Fi — this is a wired RJ45 camera
Zoom or an alternate lens option — this model has a fixed 2.8 mm lens only
Alarm in/out wiring for sirens or sensors

2MP Full-Color Warm Light Camera FAQ — IPC3612LB-AF28K-WL

Does the IPC3612LB-AF28K-WL have infrared night vision?

No — and that is by design. This ColorHunter model has no IR illuminator at all. Night vision comes from a warm white light reaching 30 m, so footage stays in full color 24 hours a day, with no black-and-white covert mode.

Why choose warm light instead of IR for a shop or gate?

Color at night records what IR cannot: skin tone, clothing color, vehicle color — details police and insurers ask for. The visible light also deters intruders and doubles as courtesy lighting. Control is Auto or Manual, with Smart Illumination support.

What image quality does it deliver in low light?

The 1/2.9-inch CMOS sensor with an F1.6 lens works down to 0.005 lux in color with AGC on. Main stream is 1080p at up to 30 fps with DWDR, 2D/3D noise reduction, HLC and BLC to steady the picture under mixed lighting.

How do I power and connect it?

PoE only needs one network cable from your PoE switch for both power and video, which keeps gate and storefront installs simple. Dual streams — 1080p main plus a lighter sub stream — let you record locally and still view smoothly on mobile data.

Does it record sound, and can it handle outdoor weather?

Yes on both. A built-in microphone records G.711 audio at an 8 kHz sampling rate with noise suppression, and audio detection can trigger alarms; note there is no two-way talk. The IP67 housing seals against dust and heavy rain for year-round outdoor duty.
