The IPC6628SR-X25E-VH2 is an 8MP starlight-class PTZ dome camera with a 6-150 mm, 25× optical zoom lens (8× digital) and 120 dB true WDR. UNV Large Model auto-tracking continuously follows motor vehicles, non-motor vehicles and pedestrians through occlusion, multi-target crossing or high-speed motion, backed by smart intrusion prevention (cross line, area entry/exit) with classification-based false-alarm filtering and on-device face recognition (up to 16 libraries, 100,000 faces). 200 m smart IR illumination, heatwave reduction and adaptive defog keep the image usable at night and in poor visibility, inside an IP67/IK10 housing rated -40 °C to 70 °C.

- No built-in speaker or microphone — Audio I/O is line-level only (1 in / 1 out), so a two-way audio setup needs an external microphone and amplified speaker, unlike models with built-in audio.
- The datasheet lists the color minimum illumination value as "TBD" (not yet published by the manufacturer) — confirm actual low-light performance with your Uniview contact before specifying for near-total-darkness scenes.
- 5.44 kg with a Ø226.7 mm base — this needs one of the dedicated Dome pole/wall/ceiling brackets listed below, not a generic light-duty camera arm.
- Single optical channel only — no secondary panoramic sensor for simultaneous whole-scene overview; sites needing both a wide static view and a 25× zoom-in should pair this camera with a fixed wide-angle unit or choose a panoramic-linkage model.

How far can the IPC6628SR-X25E-VH2 see at night?
Built-in IR reaches 200 m (656 ft) with auto or manual control. ColorHunter low-light processing with Wise-ISP keeps usable color under weak street lighting, and 120 dB WDR handles headlights and strong backlight, so gates and access roads stay readable after dark.
How much area can one camera cover with the 25x zoom?
The 6–150 mm lens gives 25x optical plus 8x digital zoom, with a horizontal field of view from 56.51° down to 2.93° at full telephoto. Pan is 360° endless and tilt runs -15° to 90° with auto flip, so one pole position can sweep an entire yard.
Does it track people and vehicles automatically?
Yes. Auto tracking runs on the UNV Large Model, and smart intrusion prevention adds cross-line, intrusion and enter/leave-area detection with false alarm filtering. People flow counting and crowd density detection are also supported, which suits markets, terminals and stadium approaches.
Can it record locally without an NVR?
Yes. Edge storage accepts a MicroSD card up to 512 GB, and NAS (NFS) network storage is supported. Ultra 265 compression keeps the bit rate between 128 Kbps and 16 Mbps, and the camera serves five streams with a 4K main stream at up to 30 fps.
Does the IPC6628SR support face recognition?
Yes. It manages up to 16 face libraries with a maximum of 100,000 faces per library. Exception detection also flags object removed and object left behind, and two-way audio (G.711U/G.711A) lets a control-room operator talk through the camera to challenge intruders.
Is it built for harsh outdoor installations?
The housing is rated IP67 against dust and water and IK10 against impact. Gyroscope-based EIS steadies the picture on wind-shaken poles, while digital defog, HLC and BLC keep footage usable in haze, glare and headlight flare — typical roadside and port conditions.
