The Uniview NVR516-E-R Series is a 16-bay 3U rack-mount network video recorder offered in two sizes: NVR516-64E-R (64-ch) and NVR516-128E-R (128-ch). Both record cameras up to 32MP with Ultra 265 / H.265 / H.264 compression, support hot-swappable SATA drives (up to 24 TB each) configurable as RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60, and accept an optional second power supply for redundancy. The recorder outputs over 2 HDMI (HDMI1 up to 8K, HDMI2 up to 4K) and 2 VGA ports, includes Smart features such as face, vehicle (LPR) and temperature detection, and provides a 38-language local interface.

- A redundant power supply included as standard — the manual lists it as an optional add-on module (PWR-DC12-350A-IN), not pre-installed
- Full per-channel bandwidth headroom at 128 channels — 640 Mbps incoming bandwidth is shared across all channels, so plan the average bitrate per camera accordingly at the top model
- 8K or 4K resolution over VGA — VGA output tops out at 1920×1080; use HDMI1 for the 8K/4K modes
- A dedicated two-way audio port — two-way audio reuses the shared RCA audio input/output jacks, not a separate connector
