ZTE Wantong SMB Wi-Fi · APs + Router-AC
A complete small-site Wi-Fi kit from the ZTE Wantong distribution line: four dual-band Wi-Fi 6 fit APs (86-box wall panels and ceiling units) plus six ISG RAC gateways that combine router, multi-WAN, DPI flow control, behaviour management and AP controller in one box — three of them with built-in PoE for the APs. We deliver them configured as part of the network solutions we build.

This page groups the ZTE Wantong distribution (SMB) wireless line. The four APs are indoor dual-band 802.11ax units with 2×2 MIMO on both bands and 802.3af/at PoE input. AP2824-H and AP2824-L fit a standard 86 wall box and have a second RJ45 on the front; AP5824-L and AP5826-L mount on the ceiling or wall and also accept a 12 V DC adapter. All four run in Fit mode under an AC. The six ISG RAC gateways are routers with a built-in AC: multi-WAN with load balancing and failover, NAT, VPN, DPI flow control with 3000+ application signatures, behaviour management, PPPoE/portal authentication and AP management. The datasheets list no Wi-Fi radio on the RACs — the APs provide the coverage. All values below are quoted from the manufacturer's datasheets; where a field was not published, we leave it out.
Two groups, one small-site Wi-Fi system
The APs give the coverage, the RAC is the internet gateway and the AP controller — order one RAC and as many APs as the rooms need.
Is this the right Wi-Fi line for you?
Plain-language guide — based only on what these products actually do.
- Higher-density or larger enterprise Wi-Fi APs — that's the ZTE Wantong enterprise Wi-Fi AP range with ten models
- More than 256 APs or a controller separate from the router — the ZTE Wantong ISG AC881 to AC998 wireless controllers cover that
- A dedicated next-generation firewall at the internet edge — that's the ZTE Wantong ISG F-series firewall range
Worried about the source? Order under your own company name.
For corporate buyers: we support submitting the purchase order to the manufacturer under your company's real name — your company appears on the official order, so the origin of the goods can be verified directly with the factory. Just provide your company name and pay by corporate bank transfer.
Using your own freight forwarder? No problem.
For small and mid-size orders, we deliver directly to your designated forwarder's warehouse in China — EXW or FOB, your choice, each quoted separately. From hand-over onward, international shipping and destination-side arrangements are handled by your forwarder — the way you already work.

Who uses it, where it goes and how to plan small-site Wi-Fi
Written for the ZTE Wantong SMB wireless line from its own specifications: 4 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 fit APs up to 2976 Mbps, and 6 ISG RAC router + AC gateways from 16 to 256 managed APs, 500 to 2500 Mbps recommended throughput and up to 110 W of PoE.
Who it is for
- Small offices and shops — A RAC-510 or RAC-5P plus two to four ceiling APs covers a typical office or shop: staff and guest SSIDs on separate VLANs, a backup internet line and DPI flow control to keep video calls and payment terminals smooth.
- Restaurants, cafés and chain stores — Guest Wi-Fi with portal login (username/password, mobile phone or social accounts), per-SSID user limits and time-based app policies; VPN (IPSec, L2TP, OpenVPN) links each branch back to the head office.
- Hotels, guesthouses and apartment buildings — 86-box panel APs in the rooms, a RAC-530 or RAC-550 at the front desk, and the built-in local PPPoE server and billing (accounts, packages, coupons, expiry reminders) for operators who sell internet access to residents.
- Homes, villas and whole-house Wi-Fi installers — One panel AP per room on the existing 86 boxes, powered from a RAC-8PL or RAC-8PH in the network cabinet: one SSID across the house with fast roaming and 5 GHz priority, and no separate PoE switch for up to 8 APs.
- CCTV integrators — Add Wi-Fi to a camera job with the same PoE practice: the RAC handles internet, port mapping, DDNS and VPN for remote NVR viewing, and its PoE ports can also feed a few cameras or APs.
Where and how to install
- Panel APs in 86 wall boxes — AP2824-H/-L are 86×86 mm and 45 mm or 33 mm deep, made for a standard 86 wall box with a network cable already in it. The back RJ45 takes the PoE cable; the front RJ45 is free for a desk device. Mount at a height and position where walls and furniture do not block the room.
- Ceiling APs in open areas — AP5824-L (210×210×36 mm) and AP5826-L (180×180×44 mm with bracket) mount on the ceiling or wall in the middle of the area to cover, with an estimated 20 m radius. They are indoor units rated 0–40°C and -10–40°C: keep them out of kitchens, outdoor eaves and unventilated roof spaces.
- RAC in the network cabinet or on a shelf — RAC-510/530 (290×180×45 mm) and RAC-550 (440×225×44.3 mm) are desktop units supplied with long mounting ears for a rack; RAC-5P/8PL/8PH are 232×152×44 mm and fit a home network box or shelf. All take built-in AC 100–240 V and are rated -20°C to +50°C; leave space around the PoE models, which convert up to 120 W.
- Cabling and PoE to each AP — Run one network cable from the RAC or a PoE switch to each AP and keep each run within the usual 100 m Ethernet limit. Every AP accepts 802.3af/at PoE and the ceiling models can also use a 12 V DC adapter (not included by default) where no PoE port is available.
- Internet lines and management — Plug each ISP line into a port set as WAN and label it in the cabinet. Manage the RAC over HTTPS or SSH with separate administrator levels, keep Ping from the WAN blocked, and send logs to a syslog server if the site needs records of user activity.
SMB Wi-Fi planning: which of the 10 models
The four APs differ in mounting, speed and power draw; the six RACs differ in AP and user capacity, throughput and built-in PoE. AP counts on the PoE RACs are arithmetic: PoE budget ÷ the AP's maximum rated draw, capped at the number of PoE ports; cameras assume about 6 W each.

- Pick the RAC-8PH for whole-house Wi-Fi with up to 8 APs: 110 W covers 8 of any AP model at full draw, so no extra PoE switch is needed.
- Pick the RAC-8PL only with low-power APs or cameras: its 60 W feeds 6 AP2824-L / AP5824-L or 8 cameras at ~6 W, but only 4 AP5826-L.
- Pick the RAC-550 when the internet line is faster than 1 Gbps or the site has more than 150 users: 2500 Mbps recommended throughput, 2×2.5G ports, 150,000 sessions and 256 APs.
— = not listed / not applicable. Values are from the manufacturer datasheets (RAC-5P from its one-page datasheet). AP and camera counts are arithmetic: PoE budget ÷ maximum rated draw (AP) or ~6 W (camera), rounded down and capped at the number of PoE ports. WAN counts follow the datasheet port split.
