The IPC6412LR-X5UPW-VG is a 2MP WDR Starlight IR mini PTZ dome camera built around a 1/2.7" CMOS sensor with 5× optical zoom (2.7-13.5 mm, F1.2) and up to 120 dB optical WDR for high-contrast scenes. It adds Wi-Fi connectivity for easy installation, smart intrusion prevention (cross line, intrusion, and enter/leave-area detection with human, non-motor and motor-vehicle classification plus false-alarm filtering), and a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way audio. Power is DC 12 V or PoE (IEEE 802.3at), IR illumination reaches 30 m, and the housing is rated for -10 °C to 50 °C operation.

WiFi PTZ Camera FAQ — IPC6412LR-X5UPW-VG

Does the IPC6412LR-X5UPW-VG need a network cable?

Not necessarily. It is a Wi-Fi mini PTZ, so video can go over the wireless network where cabling is impractical. For wired sites it also supports PoE per IEEE 802.3at — one cable for power and data — or a local DC 12 V supply. Note it still needs power at the mounting point if you use Wi-Fi.

How far does its night vision reach?

The 850 nm IR illuminator covers up to 30 m (98.4 ft), with Smart IR preventing overexposure of close subjects. Before IR kicks in, the F1.2 lens keeps color down to 0.003 lux with AGC on, and 120 dB WDR handles headlights and backlit entrances.

How far can it recognize a person?

With the 2.7–13.5 mm 5x zoom lens, DORI figures are: detect 70.9–247.5 m, observe 28.4–99 m, recognize 14.2–49.5 m and identify 7.1–24.8 m. Zoomed to the tele end, you can confirm identity at roughly 25 m and spot movement beyond 240 m.

What smart detections does it include?

Smart intrusion prevention covers cross-line, intrusion, enter-area and leave-area detection with false-alarm filtering. Exception detection adds object removed, object left behind, scene change and defocus. Basic events include motion, tampering and audio detection, and there are alarm input/output contacts for sirens or sensors.

Can I talk through the camera?

Yes. Two-way audio is supported with G.711U/G.711A compression at 128 Kbps and a 16 kHz sampling rate, with echo suppression. A guard or shop owner can hear what is happening and answer or warn visitors remotely from the monitoring app or VMS.
