The IPC6854ER-X40-VF is a 4MP 40× optical-zoom LightHunter network PTZ camera built around a 1/1.8-inch CMOS sensor (2688×1520 @30fps main stream, Ultra265/H.265/H.264/MJPEG, triple streams). LightHunter low-light processing keeps color detail in near-darkness, and when it gets fully dark, Smart IR carries up to 250 m. Smart intrusion prevention (cross line, intrusion, enter/leave area) filters false alarms with person / non-motor / motor-vehicle classification, while people counting adds flow statistics and crowd-density monitoring for multiple scene types. The unit runs on AC 24 V, DC 24 V or PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt), housed to IP66 and rated -40 °C to 70 °C.
Is this the right camera for you?
Plain-language guide for buyers and installers — based only on what this camera actually does.
- Ethernet is 10M/100M Base-TX only, not Gigabit — plan bit rate and cable runs accordingly if streaming multiple high-resolution channels over a long distance.
- Housing is rated IP66 with no IK impact rating stated — for street-level sites with high vandalism risk, pair it with a protective enclosure or choose an IK10-rated model instead.
- No built-in microphone or speaker (both listed N/A) and no wiper — bring your own audio device for two-way audio, and expect standing water on the lens dome during heavy rain since there's no powered wiper.
- 9.69 kg on a Ø270 mm × 497 mm body — needs the dedicated pole / wall / ceiling brackets listed below, not a light camera arm.
Worried about counterfeits? Order under your own company name.
For corporate buyers: we support submitting the purchase order to Uniview under your company's real name — your company appears on the official order, so the origin of the goods can be verified directly with the manufacturer. Just provide your company name and pay by corporate bank transfer. Models carrying the anti-counterfeit label can also be self-verified on Uniview's official Anti-Counterfeiting Query page — enter the unit's SN plus the scratch-off code.
Using your own freight forwarder? No problem.
For small and mid-size orders, we deliver directly to your designated forwarder's warehouse in China (EXW / FOB Guangzhou). From hand-over onward, international shipping and destination-side arrangements are handled by your forwarder — the way you already work.
Key Features
Complete list from the official datasheet.
40× Zoom Meets Smart Detection
Two strengths built into one PTZ camera.
40× optical zoom, 5.7-228 mm lens
Plus 16× digital zoom reaches distant detail — DORI Detect runs to 3330.6 m on the datasheet.
Classification-filtered intrusion prevention
Cross line, intrusion and area detection with person/vehicle classification, plus people counting with crowd-density monitoring.
How far can it see? (DORI)
DORI (EN 62676-4) is the industry standard for what a camera can do at distance. The datasheet gives DORI as a range across the 5.7-228 mm zoom; the bars below show the long end (228 mm, full telephoto) — the wide-angle end starts at 107.2 m Detect / 42.9 m Observe / 21.4 m Recognize / 10.7 m Identify.
How wide a view at each distance
Scene width covered at typical mounting distances — the number you need to work out how many cameras a wall, yard or aisle takes.
| Distance | 59.5° wide | 2.2° tele |
|---|---|---|
| 5 m16 ft | 5.7 m18.7 ft | 0.2 m0.6 ft |
| 10 m33 ft | 11.4 m37.5 ft | 0.4 m1.3 ft |
| 15 m49 ft | 17.1 m56.2 ft | 0.6 m1.9 ft |
| 20 m66 ft | 22.8 m75.0 ft | 0.8 m2.5 ft |
| 30 m98 ft | 34.3 m112 ft | 1.2 m3.8 ft |
Calculated from the horizontal field of view in the specifications below: width = 2 × distance × tan(FOV ÷ 2). Lens distortion and mounting angle are not included.
