Overview

The ZJIES1000D-4GT1F series is an unmanaged DIN-rail switch with fiber uplinks, combining 6 × 10/100Base-T copper access ports with 4 × fixed 10/100/1000Base-FX Gigabit fiber ports (SC, ST or FC connector optional, single- or dual-fiber optional) in one compact unit. It is plug-and-play with no configuration required, uses store-and-forward switching, and ships in a compact IP40 metal enclosure (45×175×143 mm) for DIN-rail or wall mounting. Powered by AC 220V (100–240V) single input or DC 24V (12–36V) / 48V (36–56V) redundant dual input with reverse-polarity and overload protection, it operates from -40 to +75°C — suited for sites that need to aggregate several near-end copper links onto a long-haul Gigabit fiber uplink.

Is This the Right Fit?

Six real deployment scenarios matched to this model's actual datasheet specifications.

DIN-Rail Cabinet Installation, Any Power TypeThree selectable power inputs — AC 220V (100–240V) single input, DC 24V (12–36V) redundant, or DC 48V (36–56V) redundant — and a compact 45×175×143 mm DIN-rail (or wall-mount) body fit directly into a standard electrical cabinet.
Long-Haul Fiber Backhaul for Roadside & Perimeter SitesThe 4 fixed 10/100/1000Base-FX Gigabit fiber ports (SC/ST/FC connector optional) reach up to 2 km over multimode or 20/40/60/120 km over single-mode, long enough to backhaul roadside or perimeter camera clusters to a control room.
Copper Access + Fiber Uplink AggregationThe 6 × 10/100Base-T copper ports collect traffic from local end devices while the 4 fixed Gigabit fiber ports carry it out over a long-distance fiber uplink — suited for sites mixing near-end copper drops with a fiber backbone.
Built-In Media Conversion — No Separate Converter NeededBecause the 4 fiber ports are factory-fixed (not SFP slots), with connector type (SC/ST/FC) and single-/dual-fiber preset at order, each port doubles as a copper-to-fiber media converter — saving a standalone converter at every copper/fiber junction point.
Extreme-Temperature Outdoor CabinetsA wide operating range of -40 to +75°C (-40 to +85°C storage) plus EN61000-4 Level 3 EMC immunity suit unheated roadside cabinets and unconditioned equipment rooms.
Redundant Power for Tunnel & Underground M&E RoomsThe DC 24V (12–36V) or DC 48V (36–56V) models take dual redundant input with reverse-polarity and overload protection, while an AC 220V single-input model is also available — matched to whichever supply is already run in tunnel or underground utility rooms.
Not a good fit if:
  • Unmanaged switch — no VLAN, RSTP/MSTP ring redundancy, or web-based management; choose a managed model for segmented or ring-topology networks.
  • No PoE output on any of the 6 copper ports — cameras, APs, or IP phones needing PoE power require an external injector or a PoE-capable switch.
  • Fiber connector type (SC/ST/FC) and distance class (multimode/single-mode) are fixed at the factory per order — they cannot be swapped in the field the way SFP modules can.

Who uses it, where it goes and how to install it

Written for the ZJIES1000D-4GT1F series from its official datasheet: 4 × 10/100/1000Base-T copper + 1 × fixed 1000Base-X Gigabit fibre port, unmanaged, AC 220 V or DC 24 V / 48 V redundant input, max 6 W, compact 32 mm wide IP40 DIN-rail housing.

Who it is for

  • CCTV installers at remote camera points — One Gigabit fibre brings a remote pole, gate or car park back to the control room, with 4 Gigabit copper ports for high-resolution cameras or a small PoE switch behind it.
  • Integrators replacing a media converter plus switch — Fibre and 4 copper ports in one 32 mm wide unit replace a converter and a small switch in the same box, with one power connection and one device less to fail.
  • Utilities and remote RTU / SCADA sites — -DCL (12–36 V) and -DCH (36–56 V) run from the station battery on dual redundant inputs, and single-mode fibre reaches 20 / 40 / 60 / 120 km while isolating the site from ground-potential differences.
  • Factories linking a remote machine or building — A machine cabinet more than 100 m from the plant network joins it over Gigabit fibre, with copper ports for the PLC, HMI and a vision camera that needs more than 100 Mbps.

Where and how to install

  • DIN rail inside a sealed box — The body is only 32 W × 144 H × 95 D mm and fits small pole or junction boxes, but it is IP40 and must be inside a weatherproof enclosure outdoors. Mount it upright with a little space above and below; wall-mount is optional.
  • Order the fibre to match the far end — The fibre port is fixed, so mode and reach (multimode 0.5 / 2 km, single-mode 20 / 40 / 60 / 120 km), connector (SC, ST or FC) and single- or dual-fibre are chosen at order. The far end must be a 1000Base-X port or converter with the same mode and wavelength; single-fibre optics work as an A/B pair.
  • Fibre handling — Terminate the cable in a small splice tray, use a short patch cord to the switch and do not bend it tightly. Keep the dust cap on until the cord is connected and clean the connector end first; a dirty end is the usual reason a Gigabit link stays down.
  • Power wiring — -AC takes 100–240 V AC on one input; -DCL (12–36 V DC) and -DCH (36–56 V DC) have two redundant inputs on the 4-pin terminal. At max 6 W the draw is about 0.25 A at 24 V or 0.5 A at 12 V; fuse each input and feed them from separate sources where uptime matters.
  • Copper, earth, surge and condensation — Keep copper runs under 100 m, fit Ethernet surge protectors on cables to poles, and bond the housing and rail to the box earth. Order the wide-temperature build (-40 to +75°C) for sun-exposed boxes (standard -10 to +60°C), and add a breather or heater where humidity could condense (rating 5–95% non-condensing).

Ports & link planning table

Per the manufacturer's datasheet the ZJIES1000D-4GT1F is an all-Gigabit end-point switch: 4 copper ports at 10/100/1000 Mbps and a single 1 Gbps fibre. With only one fibre it sits at the end of a link, not in the middle of a chain, and it has no ring function.

  • Pick the 4GT1F for a single remote point on one Gigabit fibre with up to 4 local devices, or with a PoE switch on one copper port for more cameras.
  • Pick ZJIES1000D-4T1S when the link and devices only need 100 Mbps; it has the same port layout with Fast Ethernet and 100Base-FX.
  • Pick ZJIES1000D-8GT2GB (2 SFP) when the box sits in the middle of a chain, or a managed ZJIES3000D model when the fibre must form a ring.

Values follow the manufacturer's datasheet. Camera load assumes 16 Mbps per high-resolution camera main stream; check your actual bitrate. Current = 6 W ÷ supply voltage.

Gigabit DIN-Rail Switch FAQ — ZJIES1000D-4GT1F

How is the ZJIES1000D-4GT1F different from the Fast Ethernet models?
Every copper port runs at full gigabit speed: 4 x 10/100/1000Base-T ports plus 1 x fixed 1000Base-X gigabit fiber port. Unlike the Fast Ethernet units in the same family, it is built for HD/4K IP camera clusters, video servers and other end devices that need more than 100 Mbps at the edge.
What is the standard fiber port configuration?
The standard order configuration is a fixed 1000Base-X gigabit fiber port in single-mode, dual-fiber form with an SC connector. That gives you a ready-made gigabit fiber uplink from the cabinet back to the equipment room without buying separate SFP modules.
What power options are available?
It can be powered from AC 220V (100–240V range) with redundant dual input, or from a DC 12–26V input. Reverse-polarity and overload protection are standard, and maximum consumption is only 4 W, so it adds almost nothing to the cabinet power budget.
Does it require configuration?
No. It is an unmanaged plug-and-play switch using store-and-forward switching with a 4K MAC address table and 1 Mbit packet buffer, plus IEEE 802.3x flow control. Field crews just wire power, copper and fiber; LEDs confirm power, copper link and fiber link.
Can it run in hot or freezing cabinets?
Yes — the operating range is -40 to +75°C, storage -40 to +85°C, humidity 5–95% non-condensing. The IP40 metal enclosure (32 x 144 x 95 mm), EN61000-4 Level 3 EMS immunity and IEC60068 shock/vibration compliance target roadside and industrial cabinets, backed by a 320,000-hour MTBF and 5-year warranty.
Will the fibre port of the ZJIES1000D-4GT1F link to a Gigabit SFP port on another brand's switch?
Yes, as long as the SFP at the far end is a 1000Base-X module with the same fibre mode, wavelength and single- or dual-fibre type; for single-fibre links the two ends must be an A/B pair with opposite wavelengths. It will not link to a 100 Mbps fibre port such as ZJIES1000D-4T1S or a 100M media converter, because the port is 1000Base-X. Tell us what sits at the other end and we will match the optic before ordering.
Can I chain several ZJIES1000D-4GT1F switches along a fence or road?
Not over fibre, because it has only one fibre port: each unit is an end point on its own fibre back to the core. To chain boxes over fibre, use a model with two fibre ports such as ZJIES1000D-8GT2GB (Gigabit, 2 SFP) or ZJIES1000D-3T2S (100 Mbps). It is unmanaged with no ring function listed, so a ring needs managed ZJIES3000D switches.
Can I connect a PoE switch behind the ZJIES1000D-4GT1F to add more cameras at the remote site?
Yes. The copper ports are Gigabit, so a downstream PoE switch gets a 1 Gbps link and the whole site shares the 1 Gbps fibre. At an assumed 16 Mbps per high-resolution camera, even 20 cameras use about 320 Mbps, roughly a third of the fibre. The 4GT1F itself has no PoE, so cameras plug into the PoE switch, for example a ZJIES1000D-P-8PGT-DCH in the same box.
Can the ZJIES1000D-4GT1F power cameras over PoE?
No. None of the 4 copper ports has PoE, and the switch is rated at max 6 W for itself. Use local camera power, PoE injectors or a PoE switch on one of the copper ports.
Will my older 10/100 cameras and PLCs work on the Gigabit ports of the ZJIES1000D-4GT1F?
Yes. The copper ports are 10/100/1000Base-T (IEEE 802.3, 802.3u and 802.3ab), so each port runs at whatever speed the connected device supports. Mixing 10/100 and Gigabit devices on the same unit is normal, and the fibre uplink stays at 1 Gbps regardless.
What power connector does the ZJIES1000D-4GT1F have, and do I need to confirm it before ordering?
Yes, please confirm the power connector with us before ordering. For Zhongxin Shutong products the power input type and connector can differ between versions and batches, so tell us your supply (AC or DC and the voltage), how you will wire it in the cabinet and your country's plug standard, and we confirm the exact connector and supply version of the ZJIES1000D-4GT1F for your order.
Can I order one unit first, and how does it reach my country?
Yes — a single sample can be ordered and sent by air. For larger orders we deliver EXW or FOB to your freight forwarder's warehouse in China, or arrange air or sea freight to your country on request. Every shipment comes with a commercial invoice and packing list for customs; import duties and VAT in your country are not included unless agreed in writing.
