The ZJIES1000D-4T1S series is an unmanaged DIN-rail switch with fiber uplinks, combining 6 × 10/100Base-T copper access ports with 4 × fixed 10/100/1000Base-FX Gigabit fiber ports (SC, ST or FC connector optional, single- or dual-fiber optional) in one compact unit. It is plug-and-play with no configuration required, uses store-and-forward switching, and ships in a compact IP40 metal enclosure (45×175×143 mm) for DIN-rail or wall mounting. Powered by AC 220V (100–240V) single input or DC 24V (12–36V) / 48V (36–56V) redundant dual input with reverse-polarity and overload protection, it operates from -40 to +75°C — suited for sites that need to aggregate several near-end copper links onto a long-haul Gigabit fiber uplink.
Is This the Right Fit?
Six real deployment scenarios matched to this model's actual datasheet specifications.
- Unmanaged switch — no VLAN, RSTP/MSTP ring redundancy, or web-based management; choose a managed model for segmented or ring-topology networks.
- No PoE output on any of the 6 copper ports — cameras, APs, or IP phones needing PoE power require an external injector or a PoE-capable switch.
- Fiber connector type (SC/ST/FC) and distance class (multimode/single-mode) are fixed at the factory per order — they cannot be swapped in the field the way SFP modules can.

All three configurations share the same port layout — 6 × 10/100Base-T copper + 4 × fixed 10/100/1000Base-FX Gigabit fiber (SC/ST/FC connector, single-/dual-fiber optional; multimode 2 km or single-mode 20/40/60/120 km). They differ only in power input: -AC = AC 220V (100–240V) single input; -DCL = DC 24V (12–36V) redundant dual input; -DCH = DC 48V (36–56V) redundant dual input.

Who uses it, where it goes and how to install it
Written for the ZJIES1000D-4T1S from the manufacturer's datasheet: unmanaged, 4 × 10/100Base-T RJ45 + 1 × fixed 100Base-FX fibre port, AC 100–240 V or redundant DC 12–36 V / 36–56 V input, -40 to +75 °C (wide-temperature version), IP40 DIN-rail housing.
Who it is for
- CCTV installers with remote camera points — Up to 4 IP cameras (or 3 cameras plus a local device) at a pole or gate, brought back to the control room on one fibre: multimode 2 km or single-mode 20/40/60/120 km, far beyond the 100 m copper limit. Cameras need their own PoE injector or power, the switch has no PoE.
- Factories and PLC / SCADA panels — A 32 mm wide unit that clips next to the PLC, HMI and I/O on the same DIN rail, takes the panel's 24 V DC supply on redundant inputs and links the panel to the plant network over fibre, which is immune to motor and VFD interference on the cable run.
- Utilities, pumping stations and substations — Small remote stations with a meter, an RTU and a camera: the DC 48 V version (-DCH, 36–56 V) runs from a 48 V battery plant, and EN61000-4 Level 3 immunity (ESD, surge, EFT) suits electrically noisy sites.
- Traffic and ITS roadside cabinets — Signal controllers, detectors and an intersection camera in an unheated cabinet: the wide-temperature version is rated -40 to +75 °C, and one fibre to the next node replaces a long copper run.
- System integrators and distributors — Plug-and-play, nothing to configure on site, and one SKU per supply voltage (-AC, -DCL, -DCH); neutral casing and OEM / project customisation are offered on the page.
Where and how to install
- DIN rail in a closed cabinet — The housing is IP40: dust-protected, not water-protected, so outdoors it must sit inside a weatherproof enclosure. Clip it onto a 35 mm rail (wall mounting is optional), leave space above and below the 144 mm tall body for air, and keep it away from heaters, transformers and contactors.
- Wire the DC inputs correctly — The 4-pin terminal on -DCL / -DCH takes two independent supplies (P1 and P2); feed them from two power supplies or a supply plus battery so one failure does not drop the link. Check the range before switching on: -DCL 12–36 V, -DCH 36–56 V; reverse-polarity protection prevents damage from swapped wires, but the switch will not run until they are corrected.
- AC version: single input — The -AC model accepts 100–240 V AC on a single input, so it has no supply redundancy. Put it behind a small breaker and an AC surge protector in the cabinet, and use the DC versions with two supplies where downtime is not acceptable.
- Ground the cabinet and protect copper runs — Bond the DIN rail and cabinet to the site earth. Fibre carries no surge, but any RJ45 cable that leaves the cabinet to a camera on a pole should get an Ethernet surge protector at both ends, and copper runs must stay within 100 m.
- Fibre handling — The fibre port is fixed at the factory: connector (SC, ST or FC), single- or multimode, single or dual fibre and reach are chosen at order and cannot be changed on site. Terminate the cable in a small splice box, use a patch cord with the matching connector, keep the bend radius generous and fit dust caps on unused ends.
- Temperature and condensation — Order the wide-temperature version (-40 to +75 °C) for outdoor cabinets; the standard version is rated -10 to +60 °C. Humidity is rated 5–95 % non-condensing, so in humid or coastal sites seal cable entries, add a drain or breather and an anti-condensation heater if the cabinet cools sharply at night.
Ports and link planning
The ZJIES1000D-4T1S is an edge node: 4 copper devices share one 100 Mbps fibre uplink. There is no second fibre port, so it ends a line rather than forming a ring; for a pass-through chain use the ZJIES1000D-3T2S (2 fibre ports), and for Gigabit fibre the ZJIES1000D-4GT1F.

- Pick multimode (2 km) for links inside one factory or campus; pick single-mode 20 km or more for roadside, perimeter or between buildings beyond 2 km.
- Pick single-fibre when only one core is free in the cable, and order the two ends as a matched pair; pick dual-fibre when two cores are available.
- Pick -DCL for 24 V panels, -DCH for 48 V telecom or battery plants, -AC where only mains is available.
Values from the manufacturer's ZJIES1000D-5 series datasheet. The camera line assumes 6 Mbps per camera (main plus sub stream); check your cameras' actual bitrate.
