Overview

The ZJIES1000D-6T2S series is an unmanaged DIN-rail switch with fiber uplinks, combining 6 × 10/100Base-T copper access ports with 4 × fixed 10/100/1000Base-FX Gigabit fiber ports (SC, ST or FC connector optional, single- or dual-fiber optional) in one compact unit. It is plug-and-play with no configuration required, uses store-and-forward switching, and ships in a compact IP40 metal enclosure (45×175×143 mm) for DIN-rail or wall mounting. Powered by AC 220V (100–240V) single input or DC 24V (12–36V) / 48V (36–56V) redundant dual input with reverse-polarity and overload protection, it operates from -40 to +75°C — suited for sites that need to aggregate several near-end copper links onto a long-haul Gigabit fiber uplink.

Is This the Right Fit?

Six real deployment scenarios matched to this model's actual datasheet specifications.

DIN-Rail Cabinet Installation, Any Power TypeThree selectable power inputs — AC 220V (100–240V) single input, DC 24V (12–36V) redundant, or DC 48V (36–56V) redundant — and a compact 45×175×143 mm DIN-rail (or wall-mount) body fit directly into a standard electrical cabinet.
Long-Haul Fiber Backhaul for Roadside & Perimeter SitesThe 4 fixed 10/100/1000Base-FX Gigabit fiber ports (SC/ST/FC connector optional) reach up to 2 km over multimode or 20/40/60/120 km over single-mode, long enough to backhaul roadside or perimeter camera clusters to a control room.
Copper Access + Fiber Uplink AggregationThe 6 × 10/100Base-T copper ports collect traffic from local end devices while the 4 fixed Gigabit fiber ports carry it out over a long-distance fiber uplink — suited for sites mixing near-end copper drops with a fiber backbone.
Built-In Media Conversion — No Separate Converter NeededBecause the 4 fiber ports are factory-fixed (not SFP slots), with connector type (SC/ST/FC) and single-/dual-fiber preset at order, each port doubles as a copper-to-fiber media converter — saving a standalone converter at every copper/fiber junction point.
Extreme-Temperature Outdoor CabinetsA wide operating range of -40 to +75°C (-40 to +85°C storage) plus EN61000-4 Level 3 EMC immunity suit unheated roadside cabinets and unconditioned equipment rooms.
Redundant Power for Tunnel & Underground M&E RoomsThe DC 24V (12–36V) or DC 48V (36–56V) models take dual redundant input with reverse-polarity and overload protection, while an AC 220V single-input model is also available — matched to whichever supply is already run in tunnel or underground utility rooms.
Not a good fit if:
  • Unmanaged switch — no VLAN, RSTP/MSTP ring redundancy, or web-based management; choose a managed model for segmented or ring-topology networks.
  • No PoE output on any of the 6 copper ports — cameras, APs, or IP phones needing PoE power require an external injector or a PoE-capable switch.
  • Fiber connector type (SC/ST/FC) and distance class (multimode/single-mode) are fixed at the factory per order — they cannot be swapped in the field the way SFP modules can.

Who uses it, where it goes and how to install it

Written for the ZJIES1000D-6T2S from the manufacturer's datasheet: unmanaged, 6 × 10/100Base-T RJ45 + 2 × fixed 100Base-FX fibre ports, AC 100–240 V or redundant DC 12–36 V / 36–56 V input, max. 6 W, -40 to +75 °C (wide-temperature version), IP40 DIN-rail housing.

Who it is for

  • SCADA and telemetry along pipelines and canals — Two fibre ports let each station pass the line on to the next one (fibre in, fibre out), while 6 copper ports serve the RTU, PLC, meters and a camera; RTU and PLC traffic is small, so the 100 Mbps fibre is ample for such lines.
  • Traffic and ITS corridors — Intersection cabinets chained along a road: signal controller, detectors and one or two cameras on copper at each cabinet, fibre to the neighbours, in an unheated cabinet rated -40 to +75 °C (wide-temperature version).
  • Factories and campuses — Connects panels or buildings up to 2 km apart on multimode fibre, which is immune to the motor and VFD interference that disturbs long copper runs, and is not limited to 100 m like copper.
  • Integrators and panel builders — Plug-and-play with no configuration, one SKU per supply (-AC, -DCL, -DCH), and fibre connector, mode and reach set at order so units arrive ready to splice; neutral casing and OEM are offered on the page.

Where and how to install

  • DIN rail in a weatherproof cabinet — The housing is IP40 (dust-protected, not water-protected), so outdoors it must be inside a sealed enclosure. Clip it onto a 35 mm rail (wall mounting optional), leave space above and below for heat, and keep it away from heaters and transformers.
  • Fibre in, fibre out — In a chain, use one fibre port towards the control room and the other towards the next cabinet, and label both. The ports are fixed at the factory (SC, ST or FC; single- or multimode; single or dual fibre; reach), so every pair of facing ports on a link must be ordered to match. Terminate cables in a splice box and fit dust caps on unused ends.
  • Power wiring — On -DCL (12–36 V) and -DCH (36–56 V), connect the two inputs of the 4-pin terminal to two independent supplies, each with its own fuse; in a chain, one dead switch also cuts every station behind it, so redundant DC is worth it. The -AC version (100–240 V) has a single input; put it behind a breaker and an AC surge protector.
  • Grounding and copper surge protection — Bond the DIN rail and cabinet to the site earth. Fibre between cabinets carries no surge; RJ45 cables to cameras or devices outside the cabinet should get Ethernet surge protectors at both ends and stay within 100 m.
  • Temperature and condensation — Order the wide-temperature version (-40 to +75 °C) for outdoor cabinets; the standard version is rated -10 to +60 °C. Humidity is rated 5–95 % non-condensing, so seal cable glands and add a breather or anti-condensation heater in humid or coastal sites.

Ports and chain planning

Two fibre ports make the ZJIES1000D-6T2S a pass-through node for a line of cabinets. Every station on the line shares the same 100 Mbps fibre nearest the control room, so plan bandwidth for the whole chain, not per switch.

  • Pick the ZJIES1000D-6T2S for lines of RTU, PLC and signalling stations with a few cameras: about 11 cameras at 6 Mbps fit on one chain.
  • Pick a Gigabit fibre model such as the ZJIES1000D-6GT3GB (3 SFP slots) when the chain carries many cameras.
  • Pick the ZJIES1000D-4T1S (1 fibre) for the last cabinet at the end of a line, where a second fibre port is not needed.

Values from the manufacturer's ZJIES1000D-8 series datasheet, which lists this model. The camera line assumes 6 Mbps per camera (main plus sub stream) and a 70 % planning limit on the 100 Mbps fibre; currents are max. power ÷ voltage.

DIN-Rail Fiber Switch FAQ — ZJIES1000D-6T2S

What ports does the ZJIES1000D-6T2S combine?
It packs 6 x 10/100Base-TX copper access ports and 2 x fixed 10/100Base-FX Fast Ethernet fiber ports into one compact unit, with SC, ST or FC connectors optional on the fiber side. Two fiber ports allow separate links to two different locations from a single cabinet.
What power options can I choose?
The default build uses DC 12–26V redundant dual input; AC 220V (100–240V) single input and DC 48V (36–56V) redundant dual input are optional. All carry reverse-polarity and overload protection, and the switch consumes a maximum of 4 W, so supply sizing is trivial.
Why does redundant power input matter?
With dual redundant input you wire two independent supplies to the same switch; if one feed fails, the other keeps the network up without interruption. Combined with reverse-polarity and overload protection, it prevents the most common field failure — power problems — from taking down remote links.
Does it need software setup?
No. It is an unmanaged plug-and-play switch — store-and-forward switching, 4K MAC address table, 1 Mbit packet buffer, IEEE 802.3x flow control — with nothing to log into. LEDs for power, copper link and fiber link give instant visual diagnostics during installation.
How rugged is it for harsh sites?
It runs from -40 to +75°C (storage -40 to +85°C, 5–95% humidity non-condensing) in a 32 x 144 x 95 mm IP40 metal case on DIN rail or wall. EN61000-4 Level 3 EMS immunity, IEC60068 shock, free-fall and vibration compliance, 320,000-hour MTBF and a 5-year warranty.
How many cameras can a chain of ZJIES1000D-6T2S switches carry?
Fewer than the copper ports suggest, because the fibre is 100Base-FX and every camera on the chain shares the 100 Mbps link nearest the control room. At an assumed 6 Mbps per camera and a 70 % planning limit (about 70 Mbps), that is about 11 cameras on the whole chain, which is only two switches with all 6 ports used for cameras. For camera-heavy lines use Gigabit fibre, for example the ZJIES1000D-6GT3GB with SFP slots.
Can I connect the last ZJIES1000D-6T2S back to the first to make a fibre ring?
No. It is unmanaged and no RSTP, STP or ring protocol is listed, so closing the chain creates a loop that floods the network with broadcast traffic and can take every station offline. Leave the chain open at the far end. If the line must survive a fibre cut, use managed ZJIES3000D switches, which are built for redundant ring networks.
Will the ZJIES1000D-6T2S fibre ports link to a Gigabit SFP at the control room?
No. Per the datasheet the fibre ports are 100Base-FX, and fibre does not auto-negotiate between 100 Mbps and 1000 Mbps, so the head end needs a 100Base-FX port or 100 Mbps media converter with the same mode, connector and wavelength. A 1000Base-X SFP will not link even though the patch cord fits. Tell us what equipment is at the control room and we will match it.
My cable has only one free core per span. Can I still chain the ZJIES1000D-6T2S?
Yes, order single-fibre ports. Single-fibre ports transmit and receive on one core with two different wavelengths, so the two ends of every span must be opposite types (often called A and B). In a chain that means each switch has one A-side and one B-side port facing its neighbours, so give us the station order and span lengths and we will configure each unit to match.
Can the ZJIES1000D-6T2S power cameras or be monitored from the control room?
Neither. There is no PoE output, so cameras need injectors or a 12 V supply in the cabinet, and as an unmanaged switch it has no web interface, SNMP, VLAN or alarm relay listed; link status shows only on the power, copper and fibre LEDs. A ping to the cameras or RTU behind each switch is the usual way to watch an unmanaged chain. For SNMP alarms or VLANs, use a managed ZJIES3000D model.
What power connector does the ZJIES1000D-6T2S have, and do I need to confirm it before ordering?
Yes, please confirm the power connector with us before ordering. For Zhongxin Shutong products the power input type and connector can differ between versions and batches, so tell us your supply (AC or DC and the voltage), how you will wire it in the cabinet and your country's plug standard, and we confirm the exact connector and supply version of the ZJIES1000D-6T2S for your order.
Can I order one unit first, and how does it reach my country?
Yes — a single sample can be ordered and sent by air. For larger orders we deliver EXW or FOB to your freight forwarder's warehouse in China, or arrange air or sea freight to your country on request. Every shipment comes with a commercial invoice and packing list for customs; import duties and VAT in your country are not included unless agreed in writing.
