The ZJIES6028M-HI-24GT4GB4S+ series is an unmanaged DIN-rail switch with fiber uplinks, combining 6 × 10/100Base-T copper access ports with 4 × fixed 10/100/1000Base-FX Gigabit fiber ports (SC, ST or FC connector optional, single- or dual-fiber optional) in one compact unit. It is plug-and-play with no configuration required, uses store-and-forward switching, and ships in a compact IP40 metal enclosure (45×175×143 mm) for DIN-rail or wall mounting. Powered by AC 220V (100–240V) single input or DC 24V (12–36V) / 48V (36–56V) redundant dual input with reverse-polarity and overload protection, it operates from -40 to +75°C — suited for sites that need to aggregate several near-end copper links onto a long-haul Gigabit fiber uplink.
Is This the Right Fit?
Six real deployment scenarios matched to this model's actual datasheet specifications.
- Unmanaged switch — no VLAN, RSTP/MSTP ring redundancy, or web-based management; choose a managed model for segmented or ring-topology networks.
- No PoE output on any of the 6 copper ports — cameras, APs, or IP phones needing PoE power require an external injector or a PoE-capable switch.
- Fiber connector type (SC/ST/FC) and distance class (multimode/single-mode) are fixed at the factory per order — they cannot be swapped in the field the way SFP modules can.

Who uses it, where it goes and how to install it
Written for the ZJIES6028M-HI-24GT4GB4S+ from its datasheet: managed Layer 3 rack switch, 24 Gigabit copper ports, 4 × 1G SFP + 4 × 10G SFP+, ZJRing/ERPS ring, AC/DC 100–240V.
Who it is for
- Utilities and substations — Built to IEC61850-3 with Level 3 EMS immunity and AC/DC 100–240V input, so it can sit in a station control room as the Layer 3 core that routes between bay, protection and CCTV subnets.
- CCTV and ITS control rooms — The 4 × 10G SFP+ slots carry traffic to the NVR/storage cluster or the next core, while the 4 × 1G SFP slots terminate fibre rings or links coming in from roadside and pole cabinets.
- Factories, mining and oil & gas plants — 24 Gigabit copper ports for control-room PCs, servers and PLC gateways, 64 VLANs to keep OT, IT and video apart, ACL and 802.1X for access control, and a -40 to 75°C wide-temperature version.
- System integrators and OEM projects — One 1U box replaces a separate router and core switch on mid-size projects: OSPF, RIPv1/v2, static routes and VRRPv2 for a redundant gateway, managed by Web, Telnet, console CLI and SNMPv1/v2/v3.
Where and how to install
- 19-inch rack, 1U, with depth to spare — The body is 440 × 44 × 310 mm and mounts in a standard 19-inch rack, not on DIN rail. Allow extra depth behind it for the power and alarm terminals and in front for fibre patch cords with a gentle bend radius.
- Power: AC/DC 100–240V, order dual input for redundancy — Input is via a 4-pin power terminal; single or dual power supply is an ordering option, so specify dual if you want to feed it from two sources (for example UPS mains and the station DC system). Maximum consumption is 35 W.
- Wire the alarm relay and ground the chassis — Use the 2-pin alarm terminal (rated 220V, max 2A) to signal a power or link fault to the SCADA or a buzzer. Bond the chassis to the rack earth bar with a short conductor; the Level 3 surge and EFT immunity depends on a good earth.
- Fibre: match SFP modules to the far end — Fit 1G SFP modules in the 4 SFP slots and 10G SFP+ modules in the 4 SFP+ slots; both ends of a link need the same speed, fibre type (single-mode or multimode) and wavelength pair. Keep dust caps on unused slots and clean connectors before plugging in.
- Temperature and condensation — The standard model runs at -10 to 60°C and the wide-temperature model at -40 to 75°C; choose the wide model for unconditioned shelters. Humidity must stay within 5–95% non-condensing, and the IP40 case is for indoor cabinets only, so use a heater or ventilation where dew forms.
- Plan management before go-live — Keep the RS-232 console (RJ45, 9600 bps, 8-N-1) cable in the cabinet for recovery, set a management VLAN, change the login password, and export the configuration file after commissioning so a replacement unit can be restored quickly.
Ports & ring planning
This is the series model with the most uplink options: 24 copper ports for local devices, 4 Gigabit SFP slots for fibre rings or remote cabinets, and 4 × 10G SFP+ for the backbone. Even with all 24 copper ports at full Gigabit, the 10G slots together (40 Gbps) carry more than the copper side (24 Gbps).
| ZJIES6028M-HI-24GT4GB4S+ | |
|---|---|
| Copper ports | 24 × 10/100/1000Base-T (RJ45) |
| 1G fibre slots | 4 × 1000Base-X SFP |
| 10G fibre slots | 4 × 10GBase-X SFP+ |
| Total line rate (one direction) | 24 + 4 + 40 = 68 Gbps |
| Access vs 10G uplink | 24 Gbps copper ≤ 40 Gbps SFP+ |
| Ring protocols | ZJRing (< 20 ms), ERPS G.8032, STP/RSTP/MSTP |
| Layer 3 | Static, RIPv1/v2, OSPF, VRRPv2, PIM-DM/SM, IPv6 static |
| VLAN / link aggregation | 64 VLANs (VID 1–4094) · 2 LACP groups × 4 ports |
| Multicast | IGMP Snooping v1/v2, 256 groups |
| Power input / consumption | AC/DC 100–240V, single or dual · max 35 W |
| Operating temperature | -10~60°C standard · -40~75°C wide |
| Housing / mounting | IP40 metal · 19-inch 1U rack |
- Pick this model when you need both: Gigabit fibre rings to field cabinets (4 SFP) and 10G links to storage or another core (4 SFP+).
- If you only need 10G uplinks, the ZJIES6028M-HI-24GT4S+ has the same 24 copper ports with 4 × SFP+; if you need more 1G fibre than copper, look at the ZJIES6028M-HI-16GT8GB4S+ (16 copper + 8 SFP + 4 SFP+).
- Use ZJRing (< 20 ms) when every switch in the ring is Zhongxin; use ERPS G.8032 or RSTP/MSTP when the ring mixes brands.
Values from the manufacturer's ZJIES6028M-HI series datasheet. Line-rate totals are simple sums of port speeds; fibre reach is not a switch spec and depends on the SFP/SFP+ modules you fit.
