The ZJIES6028M-HI-24GT4S+ series is an unmanaged DIN-rail switch with fiber uplinks, combining 6 × 10/100Base-T copper access ports with 4 × fixed 10/100/1000Base-FX Gigabit fiber ports (SC, ST or FC connector optional, single- or dual-fiber optional) in one compact unit. It is plug-and-play with no configuration required, uses store-and-forward switching, and ships in a compact IP40 metal enclosure (45×175×143 mm) for DIN-rail or wall mounting. Who it is for
- Utilities and substations — IEC61850-3 compliant, Level 3 EMS immunity and AC/DC 100–240V input; a Layer 3 station core whose 4 × 10G SFP+ links tie the station LAN to the control centre or a second core.
- CCTV and ITS control rooms — A 10G ring or star between cores, NVR storage and video walls: 4 × 10G SFP+ for the heavy links and 24 Gigabit copper ports for recorders, decoders and client PCs in the same rack.

Where and how to install
- 19-inch rack, 1U, with depth to spare — The body is 440 × 44 × 310 mm and mounts in a standard 19-inch rack, not on DIN rail. Allow extra depth behind it for the power and alarm terminals and in front for fibre patch cords with a gentle bend radius.
- Power: AC/DC 100–240V, order dual input for redundancy — Input is via a 4-pin power terminal; single or dual power supply is an ordering option, so specify dual if you want to feed it from two sources (for example UPS mains and the station DC system). Maximum consumption is 35 W.
- Wire the alarm relay and ground the chassis — Use the 2-pin alarm terminal (rated 220V, max 2A) to signal a power or link fault to the SCADA or a buzzer. Bond the chassis to the rack earth bar with a short conductor; the Level 3 surge and EFT immunity depends on a good earth.
- 10G fibre: SFP+ modules matched at both ends — The 4 SFP+ slots take 10GBase-X modules; both ends of a link need the same speed, fibre type (single-mode or multimode) and wavelength pair. 10G optics are less tolerant of dirty connectors than 1G, so clean every connector before plugging in and keep dust caps on unused slots.
- Temperature and condensation — The standard model runs at -10 to 60°C and the wide-temperature model at -40 to 75°C; choose the wide model for unconditioned shelters. Humidity must stay within 5–95% non-condensing, and the IP40 case is for indoor cabinets only, so use a heater or ventilation where dew forms.
- Plan management before go-live — Keep the RS-232 console (RJ45, 9600 bps, 8-N-1) cable in the cabinet for recovery, set a management VLAN, change the login password, and export the configuration file after commissioning so a replacement unit can be restored quickly.
Ports & ring planning
All fibre on this model is 10G: 4 SFP+ slots and no separate 1G SFP slots. The 24 copper ports at full Gigabit (24 Gbps) are less than the 4 SFP+ slots together (40 Gbps), so the uplinks are not the bottleneck; two 10G links can also form a ring with two left for storage or a second core.

What are the 4 x 10G SFP+ uplinks used for?
The 4 x 10GBase-X SFP+ slots carry aggregated traffic from the 24 x 10/100/1000Base-T copper access ports up to a 10-Gigabit backbone or core. This is the first model in the Zhongxin Shutong lineup with a 10-Gigabit uplink, sized for camera-heavy or data-heavy sites. Transceiver modules are ordered separately.
Does the ZJIES6028M-HI-24GT4S+ replace a separate router?
For routed uplinks, yes: it supports static routes, RIPv1/v2, OSPF, IPv6 static routing, policy routing for IPv4/IPv6, VRRPv2 gateway redundancy, and PIM-DM/PIM-SM multicast routing at Layer 3. DHCP server, relay and snooping are built in, so inter-VLAN routing and address assignment run on the switch itself.
How quickly does the ring heal if a backbone link fails?
Ring resilience combines proprietary ZJRing self-healing with recovery under 20 ms, ERPS (G.8032), STP/RSTP/MSTP spanning tree, and VRRP-based Ethernet ring protection recovering in under 200 ms. That keeps surveillance streams and industrial control traffic running through a single link failure on the loop.
What management and security options are included?
Management runs over serial CLI (RS-232 console, RJ45, 9600, 8, N, 1), Web, Telnet and SNMP v1/v2/v3, with LLDP, Syslog, RMON, SNTP and NTP. Security covers 802.1X port access control, ACLs, port and MAC filtering, IP Source Guard, ARP proxy and DHCP snooping across 64 VLAN groups (VID 1-4094).
How is it installed and what capacity does it offer?
It mounts in a standard 19-inch rack at 1U height and runs on AC 220V, with a -40 to 75 C operating range for harsh rooms. Switching uses store-and-forward with a 16K MAC table and 12 Mbit buffer; static LACP provides 2 groups of up to 4 ports, and IGMP Snooping v1/v2 handles 256 multicast groups.
Can I put 1G SFP modules in the SFP+ slots of the ZJIES6028M-HI-24GT4S+ to connect older Gigabit switches?
The datasheet lists the slots only as 10GBase-X SFP+ and does not say whether they also run 1G modules, so confirm with us before ordering if your design depends on it. Both ends of a fibre link must run at the same speed. If you have several Gigabit fibre links to terminate, the ZJIES6028M-HI-24GT4GB4S+ has 4 dedicated 1G SFP slots in addition to the 4 SFP+.
Which 10G SFP+ modules should I order for the ZJIES6028M-HI-24GT4S+, and how far will they reach?
Reach depends on the module, not the switch: multimode modules suit short runs inside a building or control room, single-mode modules suit links between buildings or stations. The datasheet has no module compatibility list, so tell us the fibre type, distance and far-end device and we will supply matched SFP+ modules. For the -40 to 75°C wide-temperature model, use industrial-temperature modules as well.
Can the ZJIES6028M-HI-24GT4S+ form a 10G ring with other brands' core switches?
Yes, through a standard protocol: it lists ERPS (ITU-T G.8032), RSTP, MSTP and STP, which other managed brands also support. ZJRing, with self-healing under 20 ms, is Zhongxin's private ring and works only between Zhongxin switches. In a mixed ring, plan the ring ID, control VLAN and RPL owner the same way on every node and keep all ring links at 10G.
Can the ZJIES6028M-HI-24GT4S+ be powered from a 110V or 220V DC station battery?
The datasheet gives the input range as AC/DC 100–240V, so a 110V or 220V DC station supply falls inside it, as does normal AC mains. Order the dual-power version if you want one input from the DC system and one from AC, and wire the 2-pin alarm terminal so the loss of either input is reported. There is no 24V or 48V DC version of this model in the datasheet.
How does the ZJIES6028M-HI-24GT4S+ handle multicast video and IEC 61850 GOOSE?
IGMP Snooping v1/v2 with up to 256 multicast groups stops multicast streams flooding every port, and PIM-DM/PIM-SM can route multicast between subnets. GOOSE frames are Layer 2 multicast, so keep them in their own VLAN and use 802.1p priority (4 priority queues with strict or weighted scheduling) to put them ahead of video. Broadcast, multicast and unknown-unicast storm suppression is also available to protect the network.
How many camera streams can pass through one 10G link on the ZJIES6028M-HI-24GT4S+?
Assuming 4 Mbps per 4 MP camera stream and planning the link at about 70% load, one 10G SFP+ link carries roughly 1,750 streams (7,000 ÷ 4). Each copper port at 1 Gbps carries roughly 175 on the same assumption, which is the practical limit for an edge PoE switch or NVR connected on copper. The switch has no PoE, so cameras are powered by edge PoE switches.
What power connector does the ZJIES6028M-HI-24GT4S+ have, and do I need to confirm it before ordering?
