Overview

S16G02GI is Atlas's all-gigabit 16-port PoE switch: 16 auto-sensing 802.3af/at Gigabit PoE ports, 2 Gigabit RJ45 uplinks, and 2 Gigabit SFP slots for fiber redundancy or backhaul, all within a 200W power budget. What sets it apart from the rest of the Atlas PoE line is a one-key port isolation / VLAN mode: switch it on and every PoE port can talk only to the uplink, never to another PoE port, which stops a broadcast or loop storm from one bad camera or miswired patch cable from ever reaching the rest of the network -- a common cause of choppy, freezing video on installer jobs.

Not a good fit if:
  • Fixed-mode isolation, not full VLAN management -- the one-key mode isolates all PoE ports from each other on an all-or-nothing basis; it does not provide per-port VLAN tagging, spanning-tree, or a web management GUI. Choose a managed switch if the project needs granular VLANs or SNMP.
  • No ring-network redundancy protocol -- built for star, tree, and bus topologies, not self-healing ring recovery.
  • -10°C to +70°C is a commercial temperature range, not an industrial wide-temperature rating -- for extreme outdoor cabinets, look at Atlas's industrial DIN-rail line instead.

Port isolation / VLAN mode is a one-key toggle on S16G02GI: when enabled, every PoE access port can reach only the 2 uplink ports and cannot reach any other PoE port, blocking broadcast and loop storms at the source. Disable it if the project needs ports to communicate directly with each other.
