Overview

The S4G02GFI-SFP is the fibre-uplink member of the 4-port PoE family: four 10/100/1000M PoE ports for cameras, access points or intercoms, and two 1000M SFP slots instead of copper uplinks. Copper tops out at 100 m per segment, so when the switch sits at a gate house, a pump station or the far end of a yard while the recorder is in the office block, the SFP pair carries the traffic over fibre — single-mode modules cover tens of kilometres. Total PoE budget is 52 W with 30 W available on any single port, the housing is fanless metal, and the unit is unmanaged: power it, plug in, done.

How many cameras can the S4G02GFI-SFP power?

Four devices on the gigabit PoE ports — cameras, access points or intercoms. The 52 W full-load budget averages 13 W each, comfortably above the 4–12 W a typical IP camera draws, and any single port can supply up to 30 W under IEEE 802.3af/at for a PTZ at the gate.

How far can the fiber uplinks reach?

It depends on the SFP module you fit (ordered separately): multimode covers about 550 m, while single-mode options run 20, 40, 60 or 120 km. Both 1000Base-X slots are available, so you can link a gate house to the office block and still keep a second fiber path.

When should I pick this model over a copper-uplink switch?
